Thegoal of the site is to share information, acquired from moreexperienced and knowledge- able skaters, parents, coaches, and officialjudges, with families of new athletes interested in acquiring skills in:

    Everybeginning skater undertakes ajourney that may take different paths to develop their skills. Thereare many bumps and sometimes interruptions along the way of earninga gold medal in any of the figure skating disciplines.

    Passing tests and enteringcompetitions add to the challenges and rewards associated with thesport.  Training often produces frustrating situations that mustbe confronted in order to enhance skill development. It is the way anathlete responds to the challenges that makes them "outstanding" in thesport of figure skating.

    The process of becoming a figureskatingprovides each individual with practicallessons on how to manage their time, prioritize objectives, deal withfrustrations, budget limited resources, and focus positively onattaining achievable goals.

    Figureskaters acquireessential self confidence, leadership, and communication skills byparticipating in thetraining process required to test and enter United States FigureSkating open and qualifying competitions. These skills have positivetransference into manynon-skatingendeavors such as:

            There are many different paths peoplemay take to pursue their personal objectives in competitive andrecreational ice sports. Hopefully each individual will find theexperience positive and their progress not impeded by decisions thatwould be made with the opportunity avoid wasted time, energy, andemotional investment if only they had been able to ask the rightquestions and receive objective advice.
